Technology, art, culture, and a curious glimpse outside the bubble that’s what makes Open Mind Culture colourful and special. Started as a “note blog” and continued as a web design experiment, Open Mind Culture has always sought to connect tech and aesthetic, design, and culture.
What is Open Mind Culture all about?

“Can’t adult today”
Openness, curiosity, the variety of topics, linguistic and typographic experiments as well as science and a questioning society have always been part of my open-minded culture. Now Open Mind Culture has grown up somehow. Now I try to cover more topics that other people might be interested in, in a language that they can understand. Content Creation isn’t art, it’s craft: shorter sentences, popular keywords and W-questions, but all that without losing my tone of voice. Relevance and consistency don’t need to contradict either. So ideal, so grown-up, so unlike what’s Open Mind Culture in reality most oft the time. But I keep working on it.
Who is writing here?
I’m Ingo Steinke, web developer by profession, and responsible publisher and main author of Open Mind Culture. Articles by other authors, like the guest contributions by Michelle (Buchfink Design) and Ria (Stolperfrei digital) are credited accordingly. Find further information about my blog and about me in the detailed informations about contact, imprint, privacy and accessibility.
Why won’t Open Mind Culture allow commenting?
E-Mails, direct messages, social media, and remarks in real life can also inspire, but without attracting spam. And not every discussion needs to be public. You can find me on social media mostly everywhere where you’re probably reading, writing or sharing photography or programming code, including the fediverse (Mastodon), Bluesky, Substack, DEV, GitHub and, until further notice, also on Instagram. Preferably send me an email to kontakt@ingo-steinke.de.
Topics, Languages, and Posting Frequency
Topic-wise, my blog is still full of diverse open mind culture, now with a stronger focus on core topics in the main categories technology, art and culture, literature – books – films, travel, society, fashion and events. However, those categories can’t fit all of my articles, and they overlap partially. Technology, art and culture will will likely remain central aspects of this blog in the future.
New articles on Open Mind Culture are usually published in English and in German. Older articles don’t always exist in both languages. Some people like bilingual blogs to improve their German skills, I write bilingually to perfect my English. When I have more important things to do or I’m lazy, I partially have them translated by machine. All of this may not excuse, but at least explain unpleasant fluctuations in quality.
Sometimes I write more often, sometimes less, and I try to publish at least once per month if I can, and I’m open to collaboration like writing guest articles for each other.
